Sierra Kids Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible.
All the funds raised by the Wild West Shootout basketball tournament and from local sponsors are awarded as scholarships to families with an autistic child attending the UNR Early Childhood Autism Program.
The UNR Early Childhood Autism Program specializes in early intensive treatment for young children with autism. Autism is a developmental disability that affects, often severely, a person’s ability to communicate and socially interact with others. The program offers a comprehensive, individualized treatment program that emphasizes the child’s development in the areas of language, communication, socialization, and personal behavior. With its connection to UNR, the program is also a training site for university students involved in the science and practice of treating these children.
